(In response to my older post https://theartofdebimendez.wordpress.com/2015/10/25/gwen-stefani-x-urban-decay-eyeshadow-palette/)
I stumbled across Sephora Villagio Mall, Qatar this January 6th and found out that they already launched “Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay” collection which was featured on the store!!! I went nuts! There is going to be an event for the launch and product but no information given out yet. I quickly grabbed 3 pcs. from each (1 for self-keeps, 1 for personal use, and 1 for my makeup kit essentials). Everything about the shades and packaging is so wonderfully presented as it reflects the personality and makeup taste of Gwen Stefani.
The limited edition eyeshadow palette which is designed by Gwen Stefani herself ($58.00 for 0.60 oz.) includes 15 eyeshadows (12 new shades and 3 repromotes that she personally handpicked) housed on a compact and sleek plastic palette which is sturdy, and easy to clean when it gets dirty from use. All eyeshadows are versatile to use with it’s pigment and texture, and that’s the reason why Gwen handpicked the shades. Just by looking at the contents, you can re-create her signature pin up look, neutral looks, perfect brows, and oh, a touch of smokey eye or color pop, too. The eyeshadow shades are:
- Blonde: pale beige with pink iridescence
- Bathwater: pale beige with golden pearl
- Skimp: pale nude satin
- Steady: medium rose with metallic gold
- Punk: matte reddish brown
- Baby: cool metallic rose
- Anaheim: matte light taupe-brown
- Stark: nude pink matte
- Zone: matte medium brown
- Serious: pearly iridescent smokey grey
- Pop: iridescent sparkly coral
- Harajuku: metallic blue-pink iridescence
- Danger: deep metallic royal blue iridescence
- 1987: metallic yellow-gold
- Black-out:matte jet black
What even amazes me is aside from it’s high quality pigmentation and beauty, everything about the eyeshadow names are derived from Gwen’s ska-band “No Doubt”, personal life, mantras, and solo music projects. I am a No Doubt/Gwen Stefani fan girl and I can cite all deets about where all the names came from! 🙂 Other than that, I am in love with the mirror as it has “Magic’s in the makeup” imprinted on it, which is one of No Doubt’s best songs that I personally love as it is a great mantra, too.
It also includes a sampler of her upcoming lipstick shades.
